Although Alanouwoly Salifou Sylla is not directly working for Tamala Africa,
Salif's involvment with them has formed a strong link with what we are trying to do. Salif helped to form Tamala Africa consciously with the same name as his group in London to create an identity across borders and with possible movements and musical endeavours in several countries. |

Tamala London has now folded and the musicians have gone on to
other ventures, but Tamala Africa is very much alive and kicking.
They are based in Gambia with new talent always joining from Guinea and others moving on, some having moved to Europe. The group comprises of between 15 and 25 drummers and dancers, based in the Tamala house. |
